For this assignment, I was asked to create an infographic about an ethical or legal issue related to effective technology use. I chose and analyzed cyberbullying for this objective because it is very important, and it is an issue that requires everyone to be aware of and responsible for.
It was my first time creating an infographic, so the process was a completely new and different experience. At first, since I had never been assigned or tried to create an infographic before, I was a bit scared and kept thinking, ‘Can I really handle this?’ I searched a lot and tried to gain new ideas. As I started figuring out how to manage this work, I felt more motivated. For this infographic, I used
Canva to design it and searched online to gain new ideas and inspiration.
I see infographics as an effective way to express an idea, especially in English classrooms, because they are very catchy. Different fonts and colorful patterns can make students feel curious about the topics. Also, since the information is given briefly and clearly, students may understand and remember it more easily. In addition, assigning students to create their own infographics might be very useful. While using infographics to give instructions is beneficial, students should also create them themselves so that they can better analyze and understand the given message because they know the steps involved. It will also boost their creativity because it requires them to do research and come up with different ideas.
Overall, this assignment was both challenging and enjoyable for me. It helped me improve my creativity.
Thank you for reading. See you in next blog. Take care!
